What an amazing start to 2025! I’m absolutely thrilled to share that I’ve been named Runner-Up Newborn Photographer of the Year (2024) by the Guild of Photographers! 🎉
After winning the title last year, coming in second this year is still an incredible achievement, and I couldn’t be prouder. Even more exciting, this marks the fourth year in a row that I’ve been ranked in the Top 10 International Newborn Photographers! To consistently place among some of the most talented photographers in the industry is something I’m incredibly grateful for.
A Year-Long Commitment to Excellence
One of the things that makes this award extra special is the effort and dedication it takes to achieve it. The Guild’s competition runs for 10 months, and to earn a place in the Top 10—or the coveted Photographer of the Year titles—photographers must submit high-quality images month after month.
It’s not about creating one stand-out image but demonstrating consistency, skill, and artistry across an entire year. Each submission is judged by an expert panel, and the scores accumulate over time, ultimately deciding the final rankings. So, to finish as Runner-Up after another year of hard work is an achievement I’m truly proud of!
And as if that wasn’t exciting enough, two of my images made it into the final 10 for the prestigious Image of the Year award! With thousands of entries from photographers across the UK and beyond, reaching the final stage was such an honor.
A Weekend of Learning and Growth
Attending the Guild’s annual awards event at The Hilton, Etruria Hall in Stoke-on-Trent wasn’t just about celebrating—it was also a fantastic opportunity to continue learning and growing as a photographer.
Over the course of the weekend, I took part in various training sessions, learning from some of the best in the industry. It’s so important to keep evolving as a photographer, pushing creative boundaries, and refining techniques to ensure I’m always delivering the best for my clients.
Another exciting step I’ve taken this year is starting my training to become a judge! Having my work assessed by expert judges has played a huge role in my development over the years, and now I’m beginning my own journey towards being able to support and guide other photographers in the same way.
A Heartfelt Thank You
None of this would be possible without the incredible families who trust me to capture their most precious moments. Every tiny newborn I photograph, every sleepy yawn, stretch, and little detail reminds me why I love what I do.
Your support, kind words, and the joy I see when you receive your images mean everything to me. This achievement isn’t just mine—it’s shared with all of you who have been part of my journey.
